Oral Sedation

Oral sedation helps to keep patients relaxed and comfortable throughout their dental treatment. Medication is taken before the procedure, allowing patients to feel relaxed while remaining able to communicate with our dental team throughout their visit. Oral conscious sedation works as a mild to moderate form of sedation dentistry. Patients may feel drowsy or fall into a light sleep.

Laughing Gas Sedation

Laughing gas, also known as inhalation sedation, is a safe and effective light sedation. Dr. Passes offers this option to help patients overcome dental anxiety. Laughing gas is administered through a mask that fits comfortably over the nose and mouth, allowing you to breathe easily while your body relaxes. This sedation method prevents nausea and vomiting common with other forms of relaxation in the dental office.

IV Sedation

IV sedation is a form of anesthesia that can help patients overcome more severe dental anxiety. During your procedure, Dr. Passes will place a catheter into an arm vein and administer intravenous medication through the tubing. Most patients experience relaxation and temporary memory loss during treatment, but can respond to questions after about 15 minutes following sedation administration.
